Our commitment

We are committed to advancing ED&I and communities’ wellbeing

At GBfoods Europe, we are committed to creating a meaningful impact for both our employees and the communities where we operate.
Within our workplace, we strive to build a diverse and inclusive company that offers equal opportunities for all. We foster inclusive leadership, diverse teams, and an equitable environment where everyone can thrive and contribute their best.
Beyond our walls, we are equally committed to the communities we serve — ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious and affordable food, and that no one is left behind. We also work to strengthen a fair and responsible supply chain, supporting local partners and contributing to the wellbeing of the people behind our products.

Our approach to ED&I

We build a Equitable, Diverse and Inclusive Workplace

Holistic Vision

Our 360º Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) strategy is fully aligned with our core values and embedded in the way we work. We actively foster and celebrate all forms of diversity, believing that inclusion drives innovation, performance, and sustainable growth. Progress is measured through clear KPIs that guide continuous improvement across all areas of our organization.

Inclusive Leadership

Our CEO, Miranda Visscher, sponsors this agenda, ensuring leadership accountability and strong governance. We are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive culture—everywhere and always. Through visible leadership engagement, inclusion is embedded in daily decision-making and organizational priorities.

Diverse Teams

We are committed to building and advancing diverse talent at every level of the organization, because true inclusion means creating opportunities for everyone to grow, lead, and thrive. Diverse perspectives strengthen decision-making, innovation, and overall performance.

Equitable Environment

We ensure that equity underpins all our policies and practices, providing fair access to opportunities and resources for all employees. Our approach guarantees that every person is treated fairly, supported in their development, and empowered to succeed.

Partnerships & Advocacy

We actively collaborate with external partners to accelerate progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our partnership with the LEAD Network reinforces our commitment to advancing gender balance across the food and retail industry. Our CEO has signed the LEAD CEO Pledge, demonstrating strong leadership support and accountability.

Our progress

We’re delivering real results

In 2024, our teams represented 40 nationalities, and women held 42% of leadership positions. We advanced our inclusion agenda by training 84% of managers on inclusive mindset and launching WIN – our first Women Inclusive Network program.
We also strengthened flexibility and fairness through new policies on hybrid work, equitable pay, and anti-harassment, supported by inclusive guidelines for recruitment, events, and communications.
In addition, approximately 500 employees joined the LEAD Network, reinforcing our commitment to shared learning, collaboration, and industry-wide progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our approach to communities

We foster community wellbeing

Access to Food

We believe that everyone deserves access to nourishing food. From our origins in Spain, the Carulla family helped create the Barcelona Food Bank in 1987. In Italy, the Fossati family, founders of our STAR brand, promoted the launch of Banco Alimentare in 1989, now the largest food bank in the country. This legacy continues today. We continuously donate high-quality, shelf-stable products in every country where we operate, actively supporting local communities facing food insecurity.

Social Initiatives

We are committed to creating a positive impact in the communities where we operate. Across all our countries, our volunteer network — known as Local Heroes — embodies our values and culture by leading initiatives such as blood donations, waste collection, environmental clean-ups, and fundraising for non-profit organizations.

Our progress

We’re delivering real results

In 2024, we donated 738,000 kg of food to food banks and NGOs supporting vulnerable communities across Europe, along with financial contributions to local non-profit organizations, reinforcing our commitment to community wellbeing and solidarity.
